Use ownered.ai with AI assistants

Connect a compatible AI assistant to your ownered.ai account to research UK businesses, prepare outreach and manage acquisition opportunities through conversation.

The connector works with your existing ownered.ai account. Your plan, allowances and permissions continue to apply.

Before you start

You need:

  • An ownered.ai account.
  • An AI assistant account or workspace that supports custom remote MCP connections.
  • Permission to add connectors if your AI workspace is managed by an organisation.

Connector availability depends on your AI provider, account and workspace settings.

Connection URL: https://ownered.ai/api/mcp

Authentication: sign in with your ownered.ai account using OAuth. You do not need to enter an Ownered API key or add custom request headers.

Never paste your password, API keys or authentication tokens into a conversation.

Connect with Claude

  1. Open Claude’s connector settings and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Enter ownered.ai as the name.
  3. Enter the connection URL: https://ownered.ai/api/mcp
  4. Use the automatically detected OAuth sign-in settings.
  5. Sign in to the ownered.ai account you want Claude to use.
  6. Review the requested access and approve the connection.
  7. Start a new Claude conversation and enable the connector if prompted.

Connect with ChatGPT

OpenAI currently offers custom MCP connections on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu on the web. In Business workspaces only admins and owners can add one. In Enterprise and Edu, admins can also allow selected members.
  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins.
  2. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter ownered.ai as the name. A description is optional.
  4. Under Connection, enter the endpoint URL: https://ownered.ai/api/mcp
  5. For authentication, choose OAuth.
  6. Review OpenAI’s risk warning, tick I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.
  7. When prompted, sign in to the ownered.ai account you want ChatGPT to use and review the requested access.
  8. Review the discovered tools, then install the plugin.
  9. Start a new conversation, type @ in the message box and select ownered.ai.

If your workspace uses the older apps experience, go to Settings, then Apps, then Create. Enter the same URL, choose OAuth, select Scan Tools, complete the sign-in, then select Create.

What you can do

Depending on your plan and permissions, you can ask your connected assistant to:

  • Search UK businesses by sector, location and other supported filters.
  • Save searches and add selected businesses to campaigns.
  • List campaign businesses and their contact availability.
  • Draft and review email sequences or postal letters.
  • Check campaign progress and outreach setup.
  • Review campaign activity and replies.
  • Manage deals, due diligence checklists and documents.
  • Create and manage data rooms and participants.
  • Consult the Ownered Analyst.
  • View account information, invoices and support conversations.

  • “List the businesses in my campaign called [campaign name].”
  • “Draft an introductory email for this campaign. Do not launch it.”
  • “Review my campaign and show me what it will send.”
  • “Check my email setup and warm-up progress.”
  • “Show my deals and help me prioritise the next actions.”
  • “Draft a postal introduction for this campaign.”
  • “List my support tickets.”

Approvals, sending and account limits

Connecting an AI assistant does not itself launch a campaign.

Before launching, review the campaign’s recipients, wording and schedule. Launch requires explicit approval of that reviewed version. Changes may require another review.

Some tools perform real actions, including sending replies, emailing data-room invitations, removing access or authorising domain setup. Managed domain setup can change nameservers on the authorised domain. Review the action and any confirmation carefully.

The connector does not process payments or change subscriptions. Postal payment and final submission remain with our postal provider.

An action blocked by ownered.ai’s permissions, allowances, verification or readiness checks cannot bypass those checks through your AI assistant.

Troubleshooting

Sign-in fails or the connection stops working

Disconnect and reconnect ownered.ai in your AI assistant’s connection settings, then sign in again. You may need to reauthorise after we update the connector’s tools.

You see the wrong account or cannot find a record

Check that you connected the intended ownered.ai account. Use the same account that owns the campaign, deal or support ticket.

A tool or action is unavailable

Check the reason returned by ownered.ai. Availability can depend on your plan, permissions, account allowances and setup status.

Your AI provider or workspace may also restrict which tools are available or require confirmation before using them.
